I attended the 39th Manila International Book Fair on its last day, September 16, 2018. For those who don’t know, the Manila International Book Fair, or MIBF for short, is the one of the biggest, most sought after and longest running fairs in the country with a total of 120,000 visitors in its five-day run.
Held on September 12-16 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, there are events organized by exhibitors, such as seminars, workshops, book signings, meet and greets, and co-located events.
As an avid bibliophile, I always try to go to book fairs (i.e The Big Bad Wolf Book Fair) so this is my 4th consecutive year for MIBF. But for this year, I’m on a budget so imagine my envy and loneliness for not being able to buy all the books I wanted. Choosing which book to buy has always been one of the hardest choices I have to make and making the promise that I’ll buy next time.
